International Travel changes
THE GOOD NEWS …
Added to the green list from 4am on 30 June are: Malta, Madeira and the Balearic islands and many Caribbean islands
Current green list countries include Australia, New Zealand, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar, Iceland.
Tunisia has been added to the red list.
- Travellers currently returning from red list countries are required to enter managed isolation.
- Amber list returnees must self-isolate at home with two PCR tests on days 2 and 8.
- Travellers returning from green list countries are not required to isolate, with a PCR test on day 2.
… AND THE BAD
Portugal’s prime minister became the first EU leader to suggest he would abide by Berlin’s calls for tighter Covid restrictions on British tourists. EU leaders in Brussels are debating how to respond to the highly transmissible Delta variant first identified in India and now dominant in the UK.
The UK Minister Grant Schapps has advised people to be aware of “the risk of things changing”.
