MCC Statement on Lockdown Easing
When the Scottish Government announced the update to the Strategic Framework on Tuesday, it was indicated that the Island communities would be consulted on the easing of lockdown restrictions.
No guidelines have yet been given by the Government about what form this consultation would take however we have been contacted by a number of residents who understood that the Community Council would be responsible for responding on behalf of Mull.
This issue has the potential to be divisive and no response either supporting a move to level two or remaining in level three would be an accurate representation of the many voices here.
For the past twelve months our island community has followed the advice given by the Government and their scientific advisors. As a council we support this approach continuing.
If you wish to have your individual view expressed then we would advise you approach our MSP, Michael Russell by email: Michael.Russell.msp@parliament.scot
