Moving Home Guidance

Guidance on housing (sales and rental) in Scotland during the COVID-19 outbreak.

We know that COVID-19 is a disease that we will have to manage for some time to come and, to maintain the progress we have made, it will be important that people continue to adhere to legal requirements and good practice.

It remains vitally important to strictly adhere to all public health advice. Please make sure you are following the latest advice on staying safe and protecting others. Check for updates on the Scottish Government website.

This guidance contains advice to help people and businesses carry out home moves safely.

Everyone involved in the process of moving home should follow good hygiene practices including regular handwashing and sanitising, cleaning and ensuring adequate ventilation. You should wear a face covering when required.

Everyone must also continue to follow Test and Protect rules and guidance: Coronavirus (COVID-19): Test and Protect – gov.scot (www.gov.scot). If you don’t have symptoms take regular Lateral Flow Tests  – especially before mixing with other people.
